Late night

Our flight departed Baltimore on time. I had put us in for a first class upgrade and we were waitlisted. I was #5 and Kelly was #9. I figured that I’d get the upgrade and she wouldn’t and I was prepared to let her take my seat in first class. I did get upgraded, but then, much to our surprise, so did Kelly. It worked out well. Comfortable seats, and good food and drinks for the 3-1/2 hour flight.

We arrived in Denver at about 7:15 local. Headed to Hertz to pick up the rental car. I had brought my GPS with me but we didn’t need it. The car had one in it. It was a 30 minute drive to Kelly’s friends Steph and Jim, with whom we are staying. We got there, said hello, and then walked over to a pub next door for dinner where we spent a few hours chatting. By the time we got to bed last night, it was after midnight and I had been up for 22 hours.

My iPhone went into some kind of fit when I got off the plane last night. The screen froze and I couldn’t even power it down. I had to wait for the batteries to run out. When they did and I plugged it in, all was well again.

This morning we are heading over to see Kelly’s brother and nephew. In the evening a bunch of us are going to Lucky Strikes for bowling. The sky is bright and clear right now. Going up to 51 in Denver today.

I’m 75 pages through The Life of Greece.
