Rainbows End

 I finally finished Rainbows End by Vernor Vinge yesterday.  I struggled through the book.  It was so different from what I was used to.  But I kept pressing on because there seemed to be some kind of significant mystery unfolding and I wanted to know what it was.  Alas, by the time I got to the end of the book, I was hard pressed to figure out exactly why things happened the way they did.  Clearly I’m in the minority, as this book won the Hugo Award, but when all was said and done, I gave the book 2-stars (out of 5).
