Today is the official halfway point of Kelly’s pregnancy. Exactly 20 weeks. Assuming the baby will be around 6 pounds (96 ounces) when he’s born, he will increase in mass nearly ten-fold over the next 20 weeks, which is remarkable when you think about it.
Very icy this morning. There was a layer half an inch thick covering the car, that must have added 200 pounds in weight. It took a while to get it all scraped off. The streets weren’t great, but we only have 2 miles to travel on a relatively empty road to get to the office. Work was a busy today. I was occupied from the moment I got into the office. Tomorrow won’t be much better. I’ve got meetings beginning at 11 AM and running continuously through the end of the day. And I’ve got about another 200 pages of reading to do before that first meeting tomorrow morning.
I got the latest issue of NEW SCIENTIST in the mail today, which puts me 2 issues behind, to say nothing of the latest issue of SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN. I think this weekend will be spent catching up on those issues.
I’m absolutely loving Major Richard Winters’ book, Beyond Band of Brothers. I’m a little more than a third of the way through the book and finding Winters observations fascinating, especially in the context of Stephen Ambrose’s book, Band of Brothers.
