Flying to the moon

The moon is roughly 238,000 miles from the Earth on average. On my recent trip to L.A. and Las Vegas, I passed the 238,000 lifetime mile mark on United Airlines. I’ve flown the distance to the moon on United!

It seems to me that there should be some kind of award for passing this milestone. Awards are given out for arbitrary things like 100,000 miles or 1,000,000 miles. But 238,000 miles seems like a cool number because of the moon thing. They could call it their Fly To the Moon reward or something like that. It would be cool. People who have achieved “Lunar” status could be called “Lunatics”. I can hear it now:

“We are going to start the boarding process by asking our Global Services members, 1K members, Premier Executives, Premier, and Lunatics to board the aircraft.”
