For the first 3 hours this morning, I’ve maintained a good pace, getting through 45 pages of Gotham (considering there’s 800 words/page, that’s a pretty good pace), and more importantly, enjoying it immensely. I have now moved well beyond where I originally gave up when I attempted to read the book back in late 2001, and am now reading about New York City in the 1820s and 30s. This really is a great book.
I’m taking a short break for lunch, and then back to the book until about 6 PM or so, when I have to run some errands and do some other tasks that I’m obligated to do. If I can keep up this pace, however, that’s another 75 pages or so putting me at 120 pages total by 6 PM which I would be very pleased with.
