Driving home from the Metro station this evening, it there was a light rain but a bright sky in the west. While approaching the railroad tracks (and waiting for a MARC train to pass by), I noticed an incredibly bright rainbow in the east. The photo (taken with my iPhone) doesn’t really do it justice. I’ve never seen a rainbow brighter than this one. Nor have I ever seen one during the winter.
