January writing business

So the new year has arrived and I’m ready to get started. I have 2 main things to focus on in the world of science fiction writing:

1. A new novelette, working title of “Rescue”. I’ve been writing some shorter stories of late, but I’m going to try for a long novelette this month. I’m cannibalizing some Part 1 of my most recent NaNoWriMo attempt for this particular story.
2. Preparing for my talk on science fiction. The talk takes place on January 12 and I’ve just started preparing for it. I’m tempted to put together a pretty cool presentation but my dilemma is whether or not I can get a projector and whether or not I can get it connected in our current meeting space.

I currently have 1 story “in press” and 3 that I’m still waiting to hear back on. I hope to have the novelette out in the mail by the end of the month.

That’s it as far as what I’m focusing on this month. I’m trying to keep things simple here.
