I suggest the move onto something with a bit more diversity. Fish perhaps? Coming soon: OS X 10.9 Sword Fish
If it’s diversity you seek, then insects would be the group of animals to pick from.

Why doesn’t Apple just be perfectly honest and upfront and call it OS X 10.9 God.
Ubuntu has had weird names for their releases, too. Alliterative AND animal based, and going to the next letter in the alphabet. Going backwards:
Oneric Ocelot
Natty Narwhal
Maverick Meerkat
Lucid Lynx
Et cetera
To be fair, “mountain lion” is the first cat of the bunch that actually lives in the same county as 1 Infinite Loop …
