A Brief Update From Savannah

30 Dec 2012 » 1 min read » Filed under: Personal & Family

We left Florida yesterday after spending nearly two weeks there, between Disney World and my in-laws. It was a wonderful trip, the kids had a blast and Kelly and I had a great time too. It was marred only by the fact that I’ve been sick for the last week. It seems to be down to just an annoying cough at this point. We drove down to Florida this year and so we are driving back home. But we planned to stop and spend a couple of nights in Savannah, Georgia. And so yesterday, we left my in-laws at about 9am and made the long drive from their home in southwest Florida to Savannah. All-told, the drive took us nearly 10 hours if you factor in stops for food and bathroom breaks. The kids did remarkably well.

We are staying right in the historic district of Savannah and plan on spending the day packing in as much touring as we can. We hit the road again tomorrow morning and should be back home sometime early in the afternoon of January 1.

Anyway, I’ve been a little quiet here because (a) I’ve been driving, and (b) I’ve been under the weather and haven’t had the energy to get some posts scheduled. I still have some to write, and will get to it as soon as I can. Things should be back to normal next week.
