I Have Arrived in Louisville

Smooth travel today. My flight left Washington on time, but had to take a detour to the deicing area because of a light (and I mean very light–as in almost invisible) snow that started to fall. It mean we left 20 minutes late, but the flight was smooth otherwise.  I was greeted at the airport and taken to Garage Bar in Louisville1 for dinner.

They’ve given me a suite and it is gorgeous. I feel way out of my league, but I think I’ve put together a pretty good seminar for the next couple of days. We’ll see how it goes.

Of course, I miss the family. As soon as I got into my suite, we did a FaceTime chat, so I could see everyone and talk to everyone. That always makes me feel good.

This is my first time in Kentucky, birthplace of Abraham Lincoln, although that is about an hour south of here. I’m close to the Ohio River.

I plan on spending a little time fine-tuning things for tomorrow, and then getting in a little writing before calling it a night and watching a few episodes of Modern Family, which has become a form of stress relief for me at the end of the day.

Tomorrow is a busy day and I want to get plenty of rest this evening.

  1. Yesterday, I think I said I was heading to Lexington, but I was wrong. Forgive me. Two cities beginning with L and containing three syllables each in a place I’m not familiar with. I think the mistake is forgivable.

    1. I wish I had time to do that but my schedule is backed solid. I’m running the second half of the seminar in the morning and then flying home after lunch. Maybe next time. 🙁
