I arrived back home last night around 10 pm. Kelly and the kids came to the airport to pick me up, and after 8 days without seeing them, I was eager to hug and kiss them all. Naturally, the kids were sound asleep in the car when they picked me up, and remained so, more or less, through the night, so hugs and kisses had to wait until this morning.

I slept in my own bed after 7 nights in a dorm room, and that was nice, but I still woke up this morning feeling mentally exhausted. I imagine there will be some recovery time.
