• The new cross-trainers have arrived!

    11 Apr 2006 » 1 min read

I got my brand new New Balance Cross Trainers in the mail today and they fit perfectly. These are the first sneakers I’ve had since I ruined my old ones on an awesome hike in Hawaii back in November. I’m going to test them out later this evening when I go for a run.

  • Intelligence–not!

    11 Apr 2006 » 1 min read

I can be cheerfully self-appreciative in various ways which amuse or annoy people depending upon who you are. But I try to balance that out by ocassionally admitting my gross stupidities and inadequacies as well. After all, fair is fair. Today, on the train ride home, I discovered what almost anyone who ever grew up…

  • Mapping software

    11 Apr 2006 » 1 min read

I bought some Garmin mapping software for my new handheld GPS today, got it installed, and tested it out at lunch. I walked over to Pentegon Row to do some reading (I started in on In Memeory Yet Green yesterday) and as I walked overthere, I used the GPS to track my position, and also…

As mentioned earlier, here are my scorecards from the Mets game on Sunday. I use a modified version of the traditional way of score-keeping, so somethings may look unfamilar. Marlin’s scorecard Mets scorecard

BTW, today marks 100 consecutive days that I’ve been posting to LiveJournal, since transferring my diary into this format. Given the total number of entries I’ve made, that’s about 3.7 posts per day on average.

  • Back home

    10 Apr 2006 » 1 min read about Reading & Books

I got back home from New York at around 3 PM. The train was almost empty and there was a library like silence in the quiet car that made it a very pleasant ride back home. I finished up I. Asimov on the way back and will start in on In Memory Yet Green later…

  • At Day At Shea

    09 Apr 2006 » 1 min read about Sports

For the first time in more than 20 years, I went to a ball game at Shea Stadium, courtesy of Norm and Vicky, where were given three tickets to the game. We had great seats in the Mezzanine Box (section 2, box 504C, seats 4-6) right behind home plate and had a great view of…

  • The Rainbow Room

    09 Apr 2006 » 1 min read

Well, the Rainbow Room Grill was spectacular. We met Norm and Vicky and TGI Friday’s on 5th between 48th and 49th at about 6:30 PM and spent about and hour and half there, having drinks before we headed up to the Rainbow Room. Once we headed up, we were seated at a table with an…

I was up at 9 AM after going to bed close to 2 AM last night. Jen and Jason followed shorly and Jen made some excellent muffins for breakfast. Jason had to work today so he left for the office and Jen and I hung around a while watching The Thomas Crowne Affair on TBS.…

  • I’ve arrived!

    08 Apr 2006 » 1 min read

I’m here in Astoria. First Class on Acela was pretty nice. Free dinner and drinks! I divided my time between reading and listening to the iPod. Normally, I sit on the right side of the car heading up to NYC, but this time I decided to sit on the left side and the view is…
