I didn’t get around to posting yesterday, but that didn’t stop this book arriving in the mail, courtesy of TOR Book. This one is Wisp of a Thing by Alex Bledsoe, TOR, June 18, 2013.
This book was actually received a few days ago, but I haven’t had time to post it until now. Monsters of the Earth by David Drake (TOR) scheduled for release in September. The copy I received was an advanced uncorrected proof without a cover, but I see that there is a cover design out there now.
Not one, not two, but three books arrived in the mail today, courtesy of TOR. Two appear to be urban fantasy and one is science fiction.
Tarnished by Rhiannon Held (TOR), publication date: May 21, 2013.
The Planet Thieves by Dan Krokos (Starscape/TOR Teen), publication date: May 21, 2013.
Blood and Bone by Ian C. Esslemont (TOR), publication date: May 21, 2013.
I forgot to record the fact that I received Mending the Moon by Susan Palwick (TOR) last Thursday or Friday. According to the accompanying press release, the book comes out on May 14.
The mailman arrived today with this book, Tunnel out of Death by Jamil Nasir (TOR Books). Looks like the book is scheduled for release in early May:
I haven’t posted a list of books I’ve received for review consideration since before my Internet vacation. In order to bring things up-to-date, here is the list of books I’ve received since the last post.
Kitty Rocks the House by Carrie Vaughn (TOR)
Virus Thirteen by Josuah Alan Parry (TOR)
The Man From Mars: Ray Palmer’s Amazing Pulp Journey by Fred Nadis (Tarcher/Penguin)
Yet another book in the mail today, which certainly makes this a record week for books received (the count stands at 5 for those keeping track). This one is On the Razor’s Edge by Michael Flynn. The book is scheduled for release by TOR in July. The copy I received was an uncorrected proof, but I found this cover online:
In today’s mail was this interesting-looking anthology: Queen Victoria’s Book of Spells: An Anthology of Gaslamp Fantasy, edited by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling. I certainly recognize a lot names in this one:
I arrived home today to find not one but two packages from TOR books. Today’s shipment brings the following:
Pandemonium by Warren Fahy
And Shattered Pillars by Elizabeth Bear
Technically, this book arrived in the mail yesterday, but I ran out of time to record it as such, so I am posting it today. Courtesy of TOR books, Quintessence by David Walton, which is coming out on March 19, according to the accompanying press release:
Waiting for me on the doorstep when I got home today, Firebrand by Gillian Philip, courtesy of TOR Books. Looks like the book comes out later this month.
Two books arrived in the mail today, one of which I was particularly excited about and one of which I’ve received before in a slightly different form. First up is Red Planet Blues by Robert J. Sawyer (Viking) Rob has been incredibly kind and encouraging to me as a writer, ever since I first met him back in 2007. This time was no different. My copy of the book arrived inscribed by Rob. The book comes out on March 26, 2013. I remember that because it is the day before my birthday.
Also in the mail today was the TOR hard cover edition of Kalimpura by Jay Lake. I’d received an uncorrected proof of this book a few months back and now I have the final hardcover edition, which is very cool.
