All tingly inside

Yesterday, about the time I braved the sweltering heat to pick up the Little Man from school, I began to get that tingly feeling that I dread. It is not quite nausea, but my skin gets sensitive and I get the chills. Busy as I’ve been, I did my best to ignore it, figuring it would go away. But when I woke up in the middle of the night, I still felt that tingly feeling. I managed somehow to get back to sleep and make it through the workday. Late in the day I noticed a hive pop up. I put two and two together pretty quickly and figured I was having an allergic reaction to something. It’s happened to me before on very rare occasions. So the three of us made a trek up to Target to get some Benedryl.

The medicine helped–at least in the sense that the hive vanished. But the tingly feeling remained. So when we were about to give the Little Man his bath this evening, I decided to take my temperature: and it was slightly spiked at 100 F. That might explain the tingly feeling, but where would I have picked up a fever from? Everyone I know is pretty healthy at the moment.

I’ve since taken some Advil to see if that helps. The Benedryl has kicked in but it generally does not make me very drowsy. Two big problems remain:

  1. I still haven’t shaken this tingly feeling, and I would very much like to before we head up to Baltimore tomorrow morning.
  2. Whenever I feel this way, I find it very hard to read or write. So what the heck am I going to spend my time doing this evening?

Nothing to worry about, I’m sure. Just a little note to point out that feeling “all tingly inside” isn’t always what it is cracked up to be.
