Some notes from the September Locus

Locus didn’t arrive in my inbox yesterday and when I started to investigate why, I remembered that my subscription expired in August and I neglected to renew. I renewed it last night, choosing the digital-only option in line with my paperless lifestyle, and read through it before bed last night. A few items that caught my attention while reading:

  • Congratulations to John Joseph Adams and Christie Yant who were married on August 19, the same day that the Little Miss was born. Their wedding picture lead off the People & Publishing section.
  • Robert J. Sawyer‘s next novel, Triggers will be serialized in Analog! I love Analog serials and I really enjoyed reading his Rob’s novel, Rollback when it appeared in Analog.

The magazine listed forthcoming books through June 2012 and there were several by people I know or that I am looking forward to reading when they come out:

  • Earthbound by Joe Haldeman (December 2011)
  • 11/22/63 by Stephen King (November 2011)
  • Enchanted by Alethea Kontis (May 2012)
  • Glamour In Glass by Mary Robinette Kowal (April 2012)
  • Firebird by Jack McDevitt (November 2011)
  • 2312 by Kim Stanley Robinson (May 2012)
There was also a nice write-up of Readercon along with a whole bunch of photos from the event.
