New bookshelf and reclaimed desk space

Thanks to our friend Kevin, who needed to get rid of a bookshelf after replacing it with another shelf, I have a new bookshelf in my office–my 8th–and the bookshelf has allowed me to reclaim my desk from the stacks of pulp issues of Astounding that had been piled on it since January. Here is how my desk looks after installing the bookshelf and migrating the magazines earlier this morning:

I always feel more productive when my desk is less cluttered. But it is also convenient having the pulp magazines on a shelf to my right. I’ve also put some reference books there that I use when doing my Vacation write-ups, as well as my Writer’s hat.
