Via Charles Stross, this, which would seem to indicate Amazon.com is now explicitly censoring certain “adult” books. Censorship in all forms is an opprobrious practice in my mind. I currently have 2 books on order from Amazon and I’m checking to see if it’s too late to cancel the order and put the order through somewhere else–where freedom of speech isn’t infringed upon.
If it turns out this is just a mistake, as some reports are suggesting, then I’d reconsider. But given the trends that have been spotted, it’s hard to give Amazon the benefit of the doubt.
