I finally had a good night’s sleep last night. We were in bed early, around 8:30 pm, and I turned the light out at 9. I woke up at 11:30 and felt like I’d slept well. Went back to sleep and we were up at 6 am and I felt well-rested.
Pretty nice day, weather-wise today, although right after our walk this evening, the skies opened up and we had a strong thunderstorm pass through.
I set In Memory Yet Green aside for the day and instead tried to get through a few of the backlog of science magazines I’ve got sitting around. I got through the February 28 issue and partway through the March 7 issue and managed to cull at least one good story idea out of the former. (Lots of interesting articles and news items, as always.)
I even managed to squeeze in a little writing this evening, doing about 400 words on the March story, and writing the opening of the next scene which I may get some work done on tomorrow. The story stands at around 1,300 words.
We are visiting a daycare facility tomorrow. We’ve got our last birthing class on Thursday and then on Saturday, we head down to Richmond for RavenCon.
One last note. It was 12 years ago today that Grandma died. I remember the day better than I should, perhaps, because it’s in my diary. Even reading the entry through, it’s strange to think of how much I would have forgotten were I not keeping the diary.
Reading over a story tonight for a friend. It’s late now so I’ll send him my comments in the morning.
