A productive day

Even though Zachary had a good night last night, I didn’t.  I couldn’t sleep for some reason, and every time I got close to getting some sleep, I knew Zach would be up soon and I’d have to feed him.  All of this resulted in me not really getting to sleep until about 4 am.  But despite the fact that I slept in until after 10 am, I still had a fairly productive day.

I went into work for 4 hours and felt productive while I was there, working through a few lingering tasks before it was time to head home.

I paid a bunch of bills today.  There were a couple of medical bills to pay.  I also paid all of the insurance renewal bills.  And I sent out my annual library donations today for the libraries which I sponsor.  Kelly, meanwhile, took Zach to the doctor because we suspected he had acid reflux, and that’s what he was diagnosed with.  So now we have prescription to give him that should help him and make the time after his feedings more pleasant for everyone.

While at the doctor, Zachary was weighed and we discovered that he is up to 8 pounds, 12 ounces, which means he’s gained over 2 pounds in 5 weeks since coming home from the hospital.

The appraisal came back on the new house and it was just where we’d hoped it would be, so now we’re just waiting for the final word on the home loan, which could come any day.

This evening, I grilled burgers and portobello mushrooms (for Kelly) and after dinner, headed upstairs to do some writing.  I did just over 1,000 words of the WIP, bringing the total to about 4,800 words.  I’m a little nervous that it’s not moving as fast as I’d like it to, but this is just a first draft, so I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve finished it.

While watching TV last night, I saw Larry King being interviewed on a couple of programs.  He was promoting his new book, and he was pretty funny.  I decided to take advantage of my Kindle’s capabilities and buy his new book.  I got the Kindle version for about 65% off the cover price, which is better than you could do even at Costco.

About to take Zach for a walk.  I’m putting in a full day in the office tomorrow to make up for taking all of last Friday off.
