I just finished up an hour of writing. I added just over 500 words to my current work in progress, bringing the total to just over 3,700 words. I spend the first part of the session reading through and tightening some things up. I’m pleased with the tone, voice and pacing of the story so far. It is an attempt at mild humor, so we’ll see how it goes.
Zach has had two good night’s in a row. We’ve got a definite routine down which begins at about 7:30 pm. We take Zach for a walk, and then give him a bath, feed him, put him in his pajamas, and then I read to him, and rock him until he falls asleep. Tonight I read On Beyond Zebra which I hadn’t read since it was read to me as a child. What a great book!
You can stop if you want, with the Z. Because most people stop with the Z. But not me!
Anyway, last night, Zach slept from about 9:30 until 12:30, and then from 1:30 until 4 am. And finally again from 5 am until around 8 am, which we certainly can’t complain about.
Got a check in the mail today from the insurance company. I guess we overpaid on something. There were so many medical bills associated with Zach’s birth that I didn’t really keep track and just paid what the insurance company told me to pay as they came in. At least it’s good to know that they are better at correcting my mistakes than I am.
Almost halfway through The Lord of the Rings. And this evening I did a little catching up in NEW SCIENTIST. (I think I’m 5 issues behind again!)
Spend a few hours doing some volunteer work for SFWA today. And of course, four hours in the office doing work-work.
