Since there was an unintentional pun in the post about my roof last night, I figured I make it more intentional in this follow-up.
I was up at 5:50 AM and into work by 6:50, as usual. As soon as I got into the office and glanced at my email, I called Mike the Roof Guy. I explained to him the problem and told him my landlord (who he knows) directed me to call. He was very friendly and said he’d come out to the house to take a look at the problem. I told him I’d be back home in about an hour. I hung up the phone, packed up my laptop (which I left in the office, but need if I am going to work from home today) and headed home.
I got back here just before 8 AM and Mike the Roofer was here around 8:45 to look at the ceiling and climb around the roof. He’s an older gentleman, very friendly. He said that he couldn’t tell where the roof damage was and that he’d need to dig around some more to find it. In the meantime, he was going to call my landlord (the famous children’s author and songwriter) and give him an update. I expect to hear from one or both of the them later today.
In the meantime, I am working from home for the rest of the day.
