Workout #19 (Cardio)

27 Dec 2006 » 1 min read » Filed under: Fitness & Health

Up at 4:30 AM and into the gym at about 5:50. Today was a cardio morning and I had a good workout. The time actually flew by because most of it was spent thinking about the new story I am working on. The gym was a bit more crowded this morning than it was yesterday–I guess a lot of people just took one extra day off.

I did my cardio workout this morning, 40 minutes on the elliptical. I burned 526 calories, went a distance of 2.82 miles and reached a peak RPM of 110, all three of which were records for me. I also needed 75 RPM to maintain my 149 heart rate. Furthermore, I noticed today that my recovery rate is improving. After my second sprint, it took 60 seconds for my heart rate to go from 178 to 157.

Power crunch 1000 20/25 25/25 30/25

Group 2 1st Set 2nd Set 3rd Set
------- ------- ------- -------
Seated leg curl 12/75 12/90 12/105
Leg extensions 12/75 12/75 12/90

No workout tomorrow morning because I have an appointment with Bernard for a 4 PM workout, which will likely be a lower-body workout. In a way that’s good. It means that I can stay up a bit later tonight and perhaps do some more writing.
