Workout #14 (Cardio)

20 Dec 2006 » 1 min read » Filed under: Fitness & Health

I didn’t get to bed at 8:30 last night–or even close; I needed some time to relax before I went to sleep and it turned out that I didn’t go to sleep until close to 11 PM. I also forgot to set my alarm, but I rarely need my alarm to wake up anyway, and indeed, I was up at 4:25, a little tired, but ready to go.

I did my cardio workout this morning, 40 minutes on the elliptical. I burned 520 calories, went a distance of 2.79 miles and reached a peak RPM of 102. I also needed 73 RPM to maintain my 149 heart rate. Furthermore, I noticed today that my recovery rate is improving.

Tomorrow is lower-body strength training so today’s round was in preparation for that:

Group 1 1st Set 2nd Set 3rd Set
------- ------- ------- -------
Seated leg curl 15/75 12/90 12/105
Leg extensions 12/75 12/75 12/75
Bosu crunches 20LR 25LR 25LR

It felt good coming out of the gym with the temps in the low 30s after the workout this morning. Next workout is tomorrow morning.
