Workout #59 (Lower body w/Bernard)

22 Feb 2007 » 1 min read » Filed under: Fitness & Health

Just back from my workout with Bernard and it was a record-setting workout as you will see. And if you don’t believe what you see, well, either do I, but it’s true. I have witnesses. Plus, I can barely walk.

Group 1 1st Set 2nd Set 3rd Set
------- ------- ------- -------
Smith machine 12/135 12/135 12/135
Bench crunches 20 15 20
Dead lifts 15/40 15/40 15/40

Group 2 1st Set 2nd Set 3rd Set
------- ------- ------- -------
Angled leg press 15/180 12/270 10/360
Angled seated calf 15/100 15/140 15/120
Jump rope 43 44 47

Group 3 1st Set 2nd Set 3rd Set
------- ------- ------- -------
Bosu crunches 30LR 30LR 30LR
Leg extension 15/75 15/90 15/90

In case it wasn’t clear, the leg press set at 360 lbs was a record for me. My best, prior to today was 250 lbs. so I blew that old record away. Bernard said he wanted to show me what I was capable of by upping it a notch. The bosu crunches were tougher too because I sat farther back on the bosu and so had farther to climb to complete a crunch. All-in-all, it was a tough workout, but a good one.

My next workout with Bernard is in one week. And I’ve got a cardio workout tomorrow morning.
