Workout #78 (Cardio)

I almost didn’t go to the gym. I gave myself an hour extra sleep this morning and so I skipped the gym in the morning. Then, as it got close to lunch, I thought about not going, but I convinced myself that I needed to go. The last thing I need happening is to break these good habits I’ve formed. So I was there at lunchtime today.

25 minutes on the elliptical because I had to be back to the office by 1 PM. I burned 364 calories and maintained a pace of 86 RPM with a peak of 88 RPM. It felt good though. Then I did a set of chest in preparation for my chest and back workout tomorrow

I decided that the only way I’m going to get complete sets of 125 lbs on the chest press in is to start doing that weight consistently. So today, for the first time, I did three sets at 125 lbs, and as you can see, none of them were complete. I hope that this improves rapidly over time.

Incidentally, going to the gym at lunch is not bad. The weight room is empty and I can get a lot more done. I’ve been thinking about it as an alternative for early morning workouts, at least for strength training. At the very least, I know that if I miss a morning workout, I can make it up at lunch.
