Inspired by another Evernote Ambassador who is doing something similar, I am going to “unplug” on Sundays for a while. Rather than hanging out on the Internet, I’m going to try to stay away.
What this means:
- No realtime responding to email
- No realtime social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- No realtime blogging
Basically, it means I’m offline on Sunday. Let me caveat the word “realtime.” I will likely schedule a blog post or two to appear on Sundays, and I’ll also likely Buffer some tweets to go out on Sunday. But these will be scheduled ahead of time. Rest assured that I will be doing my best to staying offline.
There is one exception:
- Since I do my writing in Google Docs, I’ll technically be “online” for that.
There’s no way I’m going to skip writing, but I have it set up so that when I open my browser, all I will see is what I am working on. No other Internet-based windows open.
Bottom line, I will be offline on Sundays for a while, although you may see pre-scheduled tweets and blog posts. Don’t expect replies to comments, email, to tweets until sometime on the Monday after.
I think it will be nice to have a day a week to be mostly disconnected.
